Mobility

Your bodies ability to move.

"When you stop growing, you start dying" - William S. Burroughs

Our bodies movement is determined by the position of our joints.  The ability to create that movement is defined by our mobility. Both strength and flexibility are tied together to define our bodies mobility.  Lack of one or both limits our capacity to move.

Now the inability to move a body part because of a limit in strength is fairly straight forward.  But a limit in flexibility tends to be misunderstood.  There is no such thing as a stiff muscle.  What you feel as you slowly move deeper into a given position is the nervous system activating the "stretch reflex".  Your nervous system does this as a protection mechanism to avoid injuring the body.  The most effective way to move past this stretch reflex and to regain ranges you may have lost, is to prove strength and control. Once the nervous system is convinced that you wont injure yourself, it will give you deeper ranges upon which you can work with.

It is within this context that I want to share content which will allow you to regain mobility that the body may have lost over the years.  I plan to show you ways to strengthen what has become weak, and effective ways to regain flexibility in ranges that may have been lost.  Added together this will improve and expand the possibilities of how your body an move.
